2005 Nissan Sentra Oil Capacity

The 2005 Nissan Sentra’s oil capacity depends on the engine: the QG18DE takes 2.9 qt, while the QR25DE takes 4.2 qt. Both engines use 5W-30 oil. Check your engine identification before choosing a capacity, since the listed amount changes between these engines.

Read each capacity as the stated oil amount for that engine, not as a figure that applies to every 2005 Sentra. The figures here are specific to the engines listed; they do not establish a separate capacity for another trim or configuration. If your engine is not identified as QG18DE or QR25DE, confirm the correct capacity on the door jamb or in the owner’s manual.

When checking the oil after service, use the owner’s manual’s instructions for checking the level rather than relying on capacity alone. If the manual or vehicle information gives a different figure for your specific vehicle, follow that information.
